Understand the choice
Airport language appears on displays and in announcements. Follow flight number, departure, gate, boarding pass, luggage, and check-in as one sequence.
Core rule: Be delayed and have a delay are standard; luggage is uncountable and check-in can be noun/adjective.

Our flight is delayed, but the gate is still open.

What to remember
- Luggage has no regular plural; one item is a piece of luggage/bag.
- Departures and arrivals are plural signs/areas at many airports.
Common trap: Do not say a luggage.
