Understand the choice
Classroom vocabulary becomes active through commands: open, write, read, ask, answer, and look. English usually omits you in direct imperatives.
Core rule: Base-form imperatives address you; objects follow the verb and negative commands use do not/don’t.

Open the book and write the sentence in your notebook.

Open/write are base-form commands; book/sentence are direct objects; in your notebook gives destination.

What to remember
- Ask a question and answer a question use different verbs.
