Levantarse in the present
Coordinate six reflexive pronouns with a regular verb pattern.
Understand the choice
Build levantarse from two coordinated parts: a reflexive pronoun that identifies the affected person and a regular present-tense form of levantar. This same frame transfers to acostarse, ducharse, and many routine verbs.
Core rule: Conjugate the verb and place the matching reflexive pronoun before it.
Notice it in context
Me levanto a las siete y nos levantamos más tarde el domingo.
I get up at seven and we get up later on Sunday.
Conjugate the verb and place the matching reflexive pronoun before it.
¿Te levantas temprano entre semana?
Do you get up early during the week?
Te levantas is the familiar singular form.
Mis hijos se levantan solos.
My children get up by themselves.
Se levantan agrees with a plural subject.
What to remember
- The pronouns follow person order: me, te, se, nos, os, se.
- In a statement, the pronoun normally sits immediately before the conjugated verb: nos levantamos.
Common trap: Do not omit the reflexive pronoun or attach it to a conjugated form: yo levanto and yo levántome do not mean the ordinary “I get up.”
