Understand the choice
Schedule work, classes, appointments, and free time with all seven days. Notice that most weekday names do not change in the plural.
Core rule: Days of the week are lowercase; use el for one specific or habitual day and los for a repeated weekly habit.
Notice it in context
Trabajo de lunes a viernes y descanso el domingo.
I work from Monday to Friday and rest on Sunday.
De lunes a viernes marks a range; el domingo identifies one day or a Sunday habit.
La clase es el martes.
The class is on Tuesday.
No preposition meaning on is needed before the day.
Los sábados cocinamos juntos.
On Saturdays we cook together.
Los + plural day expresses a regular habit.
What to remember
- Monday through Friday end in -s and keep the same plural spelling.
- Sábado and domingo add -s in the plural.
Common trap: Do not capitalize day names in ordinary Spanish and do not insert en before them.
