Nature and landscapes
Describe a route through forest, river, mountain, and coast.
Understand the choice
Landscape words become memorable along a route. A szlak crosses las, follows rzeka, climbs góra, and ends at jezioro or plaża.
Core rule: Przez takes accusative; do takes genitive endpoint; po + locative can describe movement across an area.
Notice it in context
Szlak prowadzi przez las do spokojnego jeziora.
The trail leads through the forest to a calm lake.
Szlak is subject; przez las accusative path; do spokojnego jeziora genitive endpoint.
Góra dominuje nad krajobrazem, a rzeka płynie doliną.
The mountain dominates the landscape and the river flows through the valley.
Góra, krajobraz, and rzeka appear in one view.
Wyspa ma długą plażę i małe jezioro.
The island has a long beach and small lake.
Wyspa is subject; plaża and jezioro appear through case forms.
What to remember
- Góra is mountain/hill; w górach means in the mountains.
- Nad morzem means by the sea; nad morze destination.
Common trap: Do not add do after prowadzić przez; use przez for path and do for endpoint.
