Past mieć preserves expressions such as mieć problem, szczęście, czas, and gorączkę. Plural masculine-personal forms use mieli-, other plural miały-.

What to remember
- Singular miałem/miałam communicates speaker gender.
- Negative object often becomes genitive: nie miałem czasu.
