Understand the choice
Administrative German uses a specific noun at each stage: Antrag is the request, Nachweis its evidence, Behörde the office, and Bescheid the written decision. The verbs reveal the required action.
Core rule: Einen Antrag stellen, ein Formular ausfüllen, einen Nachweis beilegen, and eine Frist einhalten form an administrative sequence.

What to remember
- Bescheid geben means inform informally; ein Bescheid is a formal administrative decision.
- Amt is an office; Behörde is an authority or agency.
Common trap: Do not translate application software as Antrag; a software application is Anwendung/App.
