Verify a source, distinguish a report from opinion, and identify manipulation.
Understand the choice
Reliable reading asks who published a claim, what evidence is available, when it appeared, and whether independent sources confirm it. Vocabulary should support that verification process.
Core rule: Eine Quelle prüfen, Belege anführen, ein Gerücht verbreiten, and zwischen Bericht und Kommentar unterscheiden are media collocations.

What to remember
- Nachrichten is often plural for a news broadcast; eine Nachricht is one message/item.
- Aktuell means current, not actual in the English sense.
Common trap: Do not call every supporting example ein Beweis; Beleg is often the more cautious evidence term.
