Turn landmarks into a sequence with commands and movement cases.
Understand the choice
Clear directions alternate one action with one visible landmark. Geradeaus gehen, an der Ampel abbiegen, eine Brücke überqueren, and bis zur Kreuzung gehen create a checkable route.
Core rule: Formal commands use infinitive-shaped verb + Sie; separable verbs keep the prefix attached before Sie.

Gehen Sie geradeaus, biegen Sie links ab und überqueren Sie die Brücke.
Go straight ahead, turn left, and cross the bridge.
Gehen and überqueren precede Sie; abbiegen appears as biegen Sie…ab and frames links.
Biegen Sie an der Ampel rechts ab.
Turn right at the traffic light.
An der Ampel is dative location; ab closes the command.
Die Kreuzung liegt direkt hinter der Brücke.
The intersection is directly behind the bridge.
Kreuzung and Brücke establish a fixed dative relation.
What to remember
- Überqueren takes a direct accusative object without über.
- Links abbiegen means turn left; auf der linken Seite describes position.
Common trap: Do not say überqueren über die Brücke. The verb already contains the crossing relation.
