Understand the choice
Office vocabulary becomes usable through verb-noun pairs: organiser une réunion, travailler sur un projet, rédiger un rapport, respecter un horaire, and l’envoyer au client.
Core rule: Avoir une réunion names the event; avec introduces participants and après + noun locates it later in time.
Notice it in context
J’ai une réunion avec mon équipe après le déjeuner.
I have a meeting with my team after lunch.
Avec mon équipe identifies the participants; après le déjeuner places the meeting in the day.
Je télétravaille le vendredi.
I work from home on Fridays.
Télétravailler is the compact modern verb; le vendredi marks a weekly habit.
Nous envoyons le rapport au client.
We send the report to the client.
Au contracts à + le and marks the recipient.
What to remember
- Bureau means office and desk; context distinguishes the room from the furniture.
- Collègue works for a coworker of any gender, with un or une changing the article.
Common trap: Do not translate “assist a meeting” as assister une réunion. French requires assister à une réunion; aider means help.
